Heading out to the Butter and Eggs Day Parade this Saturday, April 25th, then you'll be in need of some appropriate al fresco refreshment on your foot-travels through our bustling downtown.
Top pick for Sonoma Country Life readers looking for a great recommendation of where to find the very best nosh is in the parking lot of the Mail Depot down by the Post Office on Fourth Street.
There you will find Joel Baecker and his equally superb partner in pizza dough and family life, Naomi Crawford, ready and willing to wow you with their culinary creations from their farmers-market friendly wood-fired pizza oven.
Pizza Politana's authentic Neapolitan wood-fired oven pizza is produced with seasonal ingredients that are hand-sourced directly from local farmers and artisan producers.
Think along the luscious lines of asparagus, Meyer lemon and crème fraiche, crispy pancetta and Star Route Farm nettles, morels with green garlic and fontina. Not sure what Naomi's is sourcing especially for Butter and Eggs, it all depends on what's fresh and bountiful on local farms the day before Butter and Eggs.
Joel and Naomi and the Pizza Politana crew will be stationed at the Mail Depot from Noon to 6pm on Saturday, so make a plan to put your feet up on the sidewalk for a few minutes and enjoy a tasty bite of the best of Sonoma County.
If you don't make it to the Parade, or you are reading this blog from elsewhere in the Bay Area, look out for Pizza Politana at the following seasonal locations:

About this blog
Frances Rivetti: Off The Cuff
Frances Rivetti scribbles daily on-line and for a variety of magazines, periodicals and newspapers throughout Northern California wine country and beyond. Trained as a general news reporter in rural Cambridgeshire, England, back in the late 80s, she duly discovered a very personal preference for uncovering the peculiarities of daily life over the deliverance of scandal and scoop. With some twenty plus years of international freelance 'lifestyle' journalism and public relations shaping the way she looks at community life, this long-time British American is deeply rooted along the edge of rural West Petaluma, juggling the daily adventures of her three school aged sons, antics of a hobby winemaker husband, wine country cooking and catering to a unruly menagerie of assorted family pets. 'Off the Cuff' is Rivetti blogging in her own backyard!
